Doggy Day Care
I hate the thought of leaving my dogs at home for any length of time. Wags and Walks Wirral now offer Wirral Borough Council Approved doggy day care seven days a week. You can drop your dog off before work and collect them at the end of your day anytime between 7:30am and 6:00 pm. Your dog will be welcome in my home and treated the same as my own dogs, who I love to bits and who follow me everywhere – even to the bathroom! They will be treated exactly the same, have access to a secure garden and at least one walk. We usually go for approximately 1hr 30mins minimum. That’s walk time! They will get plenty of attention, playtime and perhaps a few treats. I will accept small to medium-sized, sociable, house-trained dogs.
Dog Boarding
Given the choice, I would not to leave my own dogs in kennels and if you’re contacting me, you wouldn’t either. Your fur babies would come and stay in a home environment, where they feel safe, fussed over and cared for. If you are local to the area they will be going on familiar walks too – just with new friends. Even if your doggy sleeps in your bed… that will happen here too if there is any room with my own two. It is also a good idea to bring something that smells like home and is comforting so they feel secure. You can also bring any of their favourite toys. Happy days! Happy nights! Happy dogs! The Dog’s Dinner
I can feed them with my own food at extra cost although I would recommend you bring your own food as a change in diet can sometimes upset your dog’s digestion. I will feed your dog at the time you usually do, in their own bowl, so their routine is kept similar.
Group Dog Walk
The most popular option is for your dog to be walked in a small group allowing interaction, play and socialising with other dogs in a safe and stimulating environment. Your dog, of course, will have to be dog-friendly too, should not pull excessively on the lead and with good recall. New dogs joining in with group walks may be initially walked individually to better understand their behaviour and general suitability for joining an existing group. If, at any time, I feel your dog is unsuitable for a group walk, you will be offered, where possible, our dog walking service on a 1 : 1 basis. Group walks last approximately 1 hour plus.
1 : 1 Walk
Some dogs prefer the attention of human company more than they do other dogs. I can offer a 1 : 1 walk. This is also suitable for older or less mobile dogs. The walk lasts 30 minutes, not including pick up and drop off time.
Home Visits
These are particularly suitable for new puppies where you want them to have a little attention when you cannot be there. I will give your puppy 30 minutes of care and attention, engaging them in play and interaction. I will give fresh water and food if required, and allow them to stretch their legs and relieve themselves. This is also great service for older dogs, who may not be up the demands of a 1 : 1 or group walk but still need to let out, relieve themselves and will benefit from some human company whilst you are unable to be there. Home visits last 30 minutes.
Home Security Checks (Not currently available)
If you are concerned about your home security whilst you are away, and you would like someone trustworthy to check everything is as it should be, then this is the ideal service for you. I am CRB checked. For your piece of mind I will visit your property, alternate lights / curtains / blinds, etc (if required), tidy the post, water plants, and feed any small animals whilst you are away. I can then arrange to text your mobile, should you so wish, to let you know everything is secure so you can continue with your holiday with an easy mind knowing your home is safe.
Pet Taxi
You may be aware that most taxis do not allow dogs on board, apart from service dogs, so I have introduced a Pet Taxi service for when your dog needs to be taken to the vets or groomers. This service will need to be booked in advance to fit in with the schedule.
